I took a rare day off recently and fulfilled a long held ambition to visit the Chelsea flower show and what a glorious day it was, warm and sunny. My expectations were surpassed. It was fabulous. A feast for the senses. Amazing designs, colours, scents, textures and sounds that had us oohing and ahhhing and even wowing at regular intervals. It was a gardener’s paradise and also enjoyable for armchair gardeners as well as those of us who get our hands dirty!
We did a bit of celebrity spotting along the way, indulged in a glass of champagne and I took a few hundred photos!! All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Spot the celebrities below! (The last one is a joke, and is of a rare bloom never before seen at Chelsea flower show!)
Among the fabulous exhibits, I spotted a viola called Mercury, a lupin called Jupiter and an Iris called Saturn! As everything has an energetic imprint, including a name, with Mercury currently being retrograde, I did wonder if it affects the plant at all. Would the growth slow down, it certainly couldn't go backwards mirroring the planet's (perceived) movement. I didn't ponder for long as there was so much more to see, but it was intriguing that the photo of the viola Mercury that I took was the only one of the hundreds I took that was really blurred!
But I'd never thought of plants, an organic, living representation. It would be interesting to see how the textures and colours worked out. Oh, lots of ideas, plans for the future maybe. And I have noticed that there is only one letter difference between plant and planet.......
Combining 2 of my loves, astrology and gardening, now there's an idea!!
It was an almost impossible task to make a small selection from all my photos to include here. No doubt some others will appear in future blogs, articles and newsletters. Meanwhile, here are just a few to give you a flavour of the delights we experienced
